Bio:

Julia von Tirpitz is the scion of a very minor Lyran noble family – minor, that is, by everyone else´s standards; a von Tirpitz was an admiral in the Imperial German Navy, which as far as today´s von Tirpitz family is concerned, puts them on par with the Kurita family (and at least THEIR ancestor didn´t screw up like Admiral Kurita did…).

Julia, however, is the black sheep of the family. Rather than attend the Nagelring, she enrolled at the Blackjack School of Conflict. Rather than pilot respectable ´Mechs like the Atlas with its massive firepower, she developed at taste for fast light ´Mechs. Instead of a carrer as an officer in a prestigious regiment like the Royal Guards, she entered military service as an enlisted MechWarrior in the Lyran Regulars. And rather than using her exemplary service record during the 4th Succession War as a starting point for her career, she mustered out soon after the end of the war and settled down on Harvest, the world she helped liberate from the Draconis Combine, together with Runa Sigurdsdotter, a young war orphan she found wandering the war zone in the aftermath of the fighting.

When the formation of the Free Rasalhague Republic was announced, Julia decided to join the Kungsarmé in an effort to protect her newly adopted homeland (and the girl she had by then legally adopted as a daughter).
